Where light, food & craft
come together
Philosophy
We believe the best imagery is the result of genuine curiosity about the subject — understanding how a dish was made, what makes a drink worth sipping, why a piece of packaging was designed the way it was. That knowledge informs everything: the light, the angle, the moment we press the shutter.
Wright Studio was built on the idea that food deserves the same cinematic treatment as any other subject. Not styled into submission, but photographed with honesty, craft, and intention.
Process
Before a single light is set, we spend time understanding the project — the brand, the audience, the story that needs to be told.
Deep dive into your brand, campaign goals, and visual references. We develop a shot list and mood board together.
Prop sourcing, food styling prep, lighting tests, and set builds. We handle everything so shoot day runs smoothly.
Focused, efficient, and collaborative. Clients are welcome on set and can review selects in real time.
Full retouching to brand standards, handled in-house at our dedicated retouching bay.
The space
Our Chicago studio wasn’t designed to impress on paper — it was designed to make great work possible. Every corner of the space exists to serve the shoot, the team, and the client.
A fully equipped commercial kitchen large enough to accommodate multiple food styling teams simultaneously. Proximity to the shooting floor means food is prepped, plated, and on set at peak visual quality — keeping standards consistent from the first frame of the day to the last.
Years of carefully curated surfaces, vessels, linens, and objects, all in-house. Dedicated prop tables and surface racks mean anything sourced from outside the studio arrives organized and shoot-ready. Faster prep, more creative options, and a set that stays clean from first shot to last.
Clients shoot with us, not at us. The on-set review station lets you see selects in real time on a calibrated display, so decisions get made on the day — not in an email chain a week later.
Post-production happens in the same building as production. Our retouching bay is integrated into the studio workflow, which means faster turnaround and a tighter creative loop from shoot to final file.
Color-accurate print proofing is built into our workflow. Our closed-loop calibration system ensures what's approved on screen reproduces accurately in print, whether that's packaging, editorial, or campaign output. We take color management seriously, so you don't have to think about it.
With multiple dedicated shooting bays across 4,000 sq ft, we can run several sets at the same time. Large campaign shoots move faster without any loss of quality or attention on each setup.
About
Wright Studio is a Chicago-based photography and film studio specializing in food, beverage, and packaging. We work with brands, agencies, and editorial clients who believe that great imagery is the difference between a product people notice and one they remember.

Get in touch →The team
Wright Studio produces at any scale, from intimate editorial shoots to full production campaigns, drawing on a trusted network of Chicago’s finest food stylists, prop stylists, and motion talent.
Photographer & Director
Brian specializes in creating food and beverage imagery shaped through light, texture, and color. Working across still photography and motion, he collaborates with brands and agencies to craft visuals that balance appetite appeal with technical precision. From packaging to campaign content, his approach is rooted in lighting that brings depth, realism, and atmosphere to every frame.
Producer
Laura oversees scheduling, logistics, budgets, and operations for the studio, keeping productions organized from initial planning through final delivery. Equal parts detail-oriented and adaptable, she helps navigate the moving pieces of each shoot so the creative team can stay focused on making great work.
Retoucher
Sam works across both set and post, serving as our digi tech during capture and the hands behind the final retouch. She methodically builds the foundation for each image on set, then brings it all together in post, balancing color, texture, and realism until everything looks effortless and true-to-life across print, packaging, and digital.
Studio Pups
Chief morale officers and full-time set supervisors. Bonnie and Georgia ensure every shoot runs with the appropriate level of enthusiasm.
Whether you’re a brand, agency, or editorial client — we’d love to hear about your project.
